In this insightful work, the Crabtrees apply the tools of psychology to the understand how the creative temperament works, what are its strengths, and what liabilities might work against it.

What’s Inside the Course?

Discover the 9 Dimensions of Creativity

The authors present nine dimensions of artistic temperament that govern the mental, emotional, and sensory life of creative individuals. These are broken down into their strengths and weaknesses. Tools are given for working in the dimensions.

Understand the Creative Process

How does creativity happen? Is it a black box of mystery, or can it be understood? The authors unpack a research-based framework that describes how creativity fundamentally works, and how to gain more mastery over your own process.

Navigate the “Tidal Flow” of the Creative Life

A model is presented for the flow of creativity that is like ocean tides. Success in managing creative impulses lies largely in understanding these tides, navigating them, and helping others in your life understand them as well.

Nurture Creative Community

Communities that promote creativity—be they teams, businesses, families, villages—are marked by certain values and traits that help creativity flourish. Learn to identify these traits and to promote them where they are weak or do not exist.
